Happy Holidays From Your United Way

2 MIN READ

As 2025 draws to a close, I want to sincerely thank you for your compassion, generosity, and unwavering support for your neighbours.

This year has tested many of us. But it has also revealed the extraordinary strength of our community.

Across Halton and Hamilton, more individuals and families than ever reached out for help. We saw rising demand for food security programs, mental health supports, safe shelter, and crisis services.

The soaring cost of living and financial anxiety pushed many local families to the brink.

Sometimes, all it took was one unexpected event – a job loss, an illness, a rent increase – to plunge a family into crisis.

But because of you, our incredible community of donors, volunteers, and partners, hope was never out of reach.

Your generosity ensured a parent could put a meal on the table. That a senior, isolated and alone, received a friendly check-in. That a young mother fleeing violence found safe housing. That someone battling mental health challenges found the support they needed before losing hope.

Every gift, every hour volunteered, and every act of kindness is sustaining a powerful network of 76 local agencies delivering 124 interconnected, community-informed, and life-changing programs.

This social safety net didn’t just hold, it lifted people up.

And it was your compassion that made that possible. You showed us what’s possible when we are United in ACTION.

As we step into 2026, I’m carrying with me the inspiration drawn from this incredible community. Let’s continue showing up for one another. Let’s meet rising needs with even greater resolve.

From all of us at United Way Halton & Hamilton, thank you. Wishing you and your loved ones a peaceful holiday and a hopeful new year.

P.S. If you’re able, please make a final 2025 gift today at uwhh.ca

Your support makes all the difference.
