This year has brought its share of highs and lows, but one constant that has shone through is the generosity, compassion, and resilience of our community. As we reflect on the impact we’ve made together, I am filled with gratitude for every act of support—big or small—that has helped improve lives across Halton and Hamilton.
Together, we have provided comfort to seniors experiencing loneliness, nutritious meals to families facing food insecurity, and a safe haven for individuals fleeing domestic violence. These are just a few of the countless ways you’ve helped strengthen our community and offer hope to those who need it most.
This holiday season, we are witnessing the highest increase in community needs we’ve ever seen. Our Holiday Helping Hand program saw double the number of community members needing our help. Rising costs and economic pressures are leaving many families without basic necessities, making your support more vital than ever. We simply cannot provide the services our community sorely needs without you.
Your generosity, whether as a donor, volunteer, or advocate, fuels everything we do.
Even in the face of adversity, you have proven time and again that we are United in ACTION—working together to create lasting change. Your generosity, volunteerism, and dedication have made a profound difference.
We reached a milestone last year, raising a historic $12.5 million dollars for the community. Our agency partners who are delivering over 124 critical social services programs need your help again to help provide stability and ongoing support to your neighbours. I am thrilled to announce the return of the Local Love Community Match! For every $4 donated, $1 will be matched by generous community members. This means your gift goes even further, helping to meet urgent needs and strengthen the social safety net for individuals and families in our region.
On behalf of our entire team here at United Way Halton & Hamilton, thank you for being an unwavering force for good, for showing compassion when it’s needed most, and for committing to building a stronger Halton and Hamilton for everyone.
As we embrace the spirit of giving, I wish you and your loved ones a season filled with joy, health, and togetherness. Let’s carry this spirit into the new year as we continue to ensure that no one in our community is left behind.
