United Way Halton & Hamilton COVID-19 Response

2 MIN READ

We know that across our region many people could not, and cannot, afford to adequately prepare for how COVID-19 is affecting their family.

Together, we can help the most vulnerable.

These are challenging and vulnerable times, yet, amongst all of the uncertainty, I see a strong community, banding together, in a new and extraordinary fashion.

And now, more than ever, we need each other.

Your United Way is responding to the urgent need. Today, with front-line agencies in mind, we announce the launch of the United Way Halton & Hamilton COVID-19 Emergency Fund.
COVID-19 is putting our social safety net under incredible stress. We know that many people cannot afford to prepare, and do not have a support system around them, as this pandemic impacts everyone.

The United Way Halton & Hamilton COVID-19 Emergency Fund has been created to back the work of frontline agencies in our community that have been directly affected by COVID-19, and the supports that they provide. Visit uwhh.ca to access information about local needs, as well as a space to make a donation to support those most vulnerable.

Donations to United Way’s COVID-19 Emergency Fund will be distributed directly to community agencies that are working with vulnerable populations, including families under stress in our community.

By giving through United Way Halton & Hamilton, you can be sure your generosity gets to where it is needed most. United Way will be working in collaboration with stakeholders and will consult with key partners to coordinate investments to ensure that your gift is making the biggest impact possible.

As a community, we look out for others because we always are, and will always be, stronger united.

Your United Way is resilient, and here to support.

Wishing you all good health,

Brad Park
President and CEO
