Agency Random Act of Kindness

Project: Did you know that almost 60% of not-for-profit agencies in Halton/Hamilton reported issues with staff burnout and retention? United Way Halton & Hamilton is looking for volunteers to help us show our appreciation and deliver special “Random Acts of Kindness” to the dedicated front line staff at our supported agencies. Volunteers will meet at United Way’s Burlington office for a pep rally where they will receive their volunteer kit. NOTE: Use of personal vehicle is required to participate in this activity.

Project: With the rising cost of inflation, many people are struggling to afford basic necessities, such as household and personal hygiene items. Organizations have reached out to UWHH as for help with basic household supplies for the clients they support. We are looking for volunteers to purchase a variety of household essential items and assemble kits for people in need. Suggested items provided with registration.

Self-Care Kits 
Project: Mental health experts describe the increase in mental health challenges due to COVID-19 the “echo or shadow pandemic”. More than three-quarters (78%) of Canadians say their mental health has been impacted by COVID-19. Volunteers will create self-care kits that UWHH will distribute to agencies serving folks struggling with their mental health.
